DONATIONS & IMMEDIATE NEEDS
We are so grateful for your donations! Food, clothing, and household items help our clients get ahead. Please do not leave donations after we have closed. Items that are left overnight often times get ruined in the elements and cannot be used. All donations must be clean, in date, and in good working condition. See below for more details.
Donations can be dropped off on the following days/times:
Wednesday – Fridays: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
266 N. Broad St., Mooresville, NC 28115
**Please do not leave donations after hours as items get ruined in the elements.
Our clients love your gently-used donations. Over the years, we have refined our donation process and want to make sure you’re aware and informed. Our first priority is to provide our clients with free clothing, shoes, and household items to help them get ahead. Because of the overwhelmingly large supply of donations that our generous community gives, we also use specific donations at the Give Back Boutique, Community Yard Sale, and Value Clothing Inc. The income generated by these goes right back into the Mission to fight poverty in our community. Rest assured, every item donated to The Christian Mission is used for the good of our community. Please see below for donation tips and how we use the donations you give.
Donation Tips:
It takes our staff and volunteers a lot of time to sort through and stage donated items. The following tips help us out tremendously.
- Please only donate gently used items (free of holes, stains, and pet hair).
- Click HERE to see a list of items we cannot take.
- Presort your items if possible (clothing, shoes, household, etc.)
- Drop off anytime, Wednesday – Friday, 9am – 4:30pm
- Please do not drop off items when we are closed. Items get ruined when they sit in our parking lot overnight.
How we use your donations:
Resource Store:
Our Resource Store, located at 266 N. Broad Street, is our top priority and includes items like clothing, shoes, and household items to help our clients get ahead. All items in the Resource Store are free to our clients, and they have access to them each month. Many of our clients live in small apartments and cannot use large pieces of furniture. Smaller furniture items are placed in the Resource Store.
Give Back Boutique:
Jewelry and high-end items that aren’t a good fit for our Resource Store are given to the Give Back Boutique, which operates under our 501c3. 100% of proceeds made at the Boutique fund The Christian Mission.
You can also consign your clothing at the Boutique! It’s a great way to find some new looks at reasonable prices while supporting the great work of the “Mission!”
Community Yard Sale:
Items that haven’t rotated out of our Resource Store, large furniture that our clients cannot use, and toys are used at the Community Yard Sale. The Yard Sale is located at 108 Beam Dr. and is open to the community on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each month. Stop by for some great finds!
Value Clothing Inc.:
Anything left that cannot be used by the other three options gets sent to help our friends overseas. We proudly support our global neighbors and make good use of each donation that comes through our door.
Online Giving
Onetime gifts: Donations of any amount, at any time are always needed and appreciated.
Monthly Donor: Giving on a monthly basis helps ensure we have the stable income needed to respond quickly and meet the needs of families in crisis.
Stocks: When you donate stocks, you are giving more in terms of value, without paying more out of pocket. The extra bonus comes from the capital gains tax that you would have had to pay if you sold the stock now or in the future. This process is managed through our relationship with Edward Jones.
Tribute gifts: Recognize a special occasion or remember the passing of a loved one.
Bequests: Leave a bequest to the Christian Mission in your will.
Checks can be mailed to PO Box 62, Mooresville, NC 28115
